Iron midfielder joins Dundee on loan until the end of the season

Scunthorpe United winger Andy Dales has joined Ladbrokes Premiership club Dundee on a loan deal for the remainder of the current campaign.

The 24-year-old wideman has featured regularly for The Iron since joining the club last summer, although he has not made an appearance for the club so far in this calendar year.

Official media sources of Ladbrokes Premiership club Dundee have this afternoon confirmed that Scunthorpe United have agreed to send Dales to Dens Park on a loan deal until the end of the season. The move has come as something of a surprise with the winger now in-line to make his debut for The Dee in their William Hill Scottish Cup tie with Queen of the South on Saturday.

Dales failed to make the grade as a scholar at Derby County and dropped into non-league football to launch his senior career with Mickleover Sports. The winger also spent time with Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy before the player signed a two-year deal at Scunthorpe United last summer with Dales signing for the club for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder has made 25 appearances for The Iron this season in which he has scored two goals. Dales will now hope to star for loan club Dundee as they look to avoid relegation to the Ladbrokes Championship.
